Hey, bloggers, get back to work

According to Advertising Age, U.S. workers will waste a grand total of 551,000 years reading blogs this year. That’s 35 million workers spending an average 3.5 hours, or 9 percent, of the workweek on blogs.

If we weren’t wasting our time on blogs, we would be wasting it on something else. ;)

Heaven forfend that workers might actually educate themselves about the world.

Next thing you know, the uppity rascals will want to VOTE.

Not guilty, I only blog in my free time. I find it more entertaining and enlightening than watching TV. It’s also an opportunity to practice writing skills and to learn from others.

Except for you, Rhonda. And you get paid to blog. What a great job! Though, I have noticed that the WE crew submits blogs over the weekend, so either you are dedicated, on overtime, or nuts:O)

Galahad’s comments “Heaven forfend that workers might actually educate themselves about the world.” is a great example of the Socialist Out-of-touch Left (SOL’s). Yes, “workers” need to educate themselves about the world, BUT NOT ON COMPANY TIME OR RESOURCES! Increasing company costs w/o adding value to the bottom line is not consumer-friendly. Consumers pay more, can’t afford food, insurance, gas, heating, diapers for the baby (sob, sob, sob)…wait, I thought the libs were pro-consumer.

Funny how you can politicize anything. A blog about goofing off at work (guilty!) turns into “You socialist out-of-touch lefties!”I can see my boss’s solitaire screen from over here…she’s doubleclicking cards while listening to Rushbo. She must be anti-consumer.

another fine example of a reporting incopetence.

First off it is 1 in 4 wokers whos spend 10% of the week on blogs, Thats 10% of 25%

Second judging by the sound of most of the frequent posters here, they could not be counted as part of the workforce anyhow

Politicing, Tara? My observations about Galahad (or you). If you call that politicing, then that’s your opinion.

Regarding your bosses actions. Depends if she owns the company, wouldn’t you say?

I only blog at home. Only newspaper editors get to blog on the job.

I quit blogging at work a couple of months ago. It’s really not a good idea. I can’t be fired for it, but people who work for me can. I didn’t think that was fair when I found out. I blog during lunch hour sometimes, but otherwise, it’s after hours.

I didn’t call anything “policiting”. And no, she’s pretty low on the food chain (which means I’m even lower. Hee! I know my place).

I’m self employed, so I can only blog when my boss isn’t looking, which isn’t often. He’s a real SOB!

As an occasional contributor to this board, I find myself wondering who actually reads the posts? If it is only the others who post, then this must be a special kind of hell.

Unless others are looking in, we are just beating our heads against the wall, since I don’t think that we will have any luck convincing each other.

So, if it is all an exercise in futility, will anyone stop? Of course not!

Dud, (may I call you Dud? somehow it seems fitting)You have a good point; this is so futile. Why don’t you set an example for the rest of us and quit posting? You know we’ll miss you….

X, if I may be so informal; I will if you will. But you first!

Besides if you have no foils to add a little common sense to the equation, your little liberal mutual support society would have nothing to do.

My workplace firewall blocks anything that uses the word “blog.” It’s probably a good idea.

Dudley, Don’t scare 3x or the other leftie bloggers away! This is one place they don’t get spoon-fed liberalism.
