Gietzen isn’t blinking — or sitting on the back of the bus?

One of the thorns in the side of Kansas Republican Party chairman Tim Shallenburger is Wichita’s Mark Gietzen, leader of the Kansas Republican Coalition for Life and a former Sedgwick County GOP chairman. It was at a recent Wichita Pachyderm Club meeting that Gietzen scolded Shallenburger for “welcoming pro-aborts” into the GOP’s tent. And if Shallenburger thought Gietzen would back off after last week’s headlines about Shallenburger threatening to quit over the ideological split, he thought wrong. Gietzen was quoted by The Topeka Capital-Journal as saying he’d welcome Shallenburger’s resignation, offering this odd quote evoking the U.S. Supreme Court nomination switcheroo of Samuel Alito for Harriet Miers, and even the late Rosa Parks: “Tim Shallenburger is Miers. We need to get him out and Alito in. We need to do some housecleaning. The Miers thing has refreshed everyone. We don’t have to take the back of the bus anymore.”

I agree the Republican party needs to do some house cleaning. All those who will over throw the governement for their one issue.

If they save the unborn to be born into a country where that child will wonder where it next meal comes. Have they then really saved that child? They can not care less for the child. Only for their idea what God wants. Of course God will be with that child even after the Religious Right have forsaken them.

All you good republicans– get out there and vote as you’re told. Otherwise, God will punish us all.

Writer dog,”If they save the unborn to be born into a country where that child will wonder where it next meal comes. Have they then really saved that child? They can not care less for the child.”I think you’re missing the point here; the “saves” they make are payments on their tickets to heaven. Once they’ve done that, the child is someone else’s problem. I’ve seen them count a pharmaceutical saleswoman as a “save,” since she went into a clinic, and came out without having an abortion! That she wasn’t pregnant when she went in to deliver samples made no difference whatsoever- it was a “save.”

Jed, It’s never been about “abortion” it’s about frightening girls and boys about not having sex.

By saying that if a child is produced, then they’re stuck with it.

Frightening people into “bad things happening” is their method of control. Control translates into money.

Gietzen is a fringe right-wing Rush wannabe kook. 180 degrees from Galahad, xxx, CF, Brian. Both are given too much press, but then it is easier to stir up the natives with the fringe kooks than report the real stories.

    ID,

As mark twain pointed out, there are 4 kinds of people in the world: 25% like you for the right reasons, 25% like you for the wrong reasons, 25% dislike you for the wrong reasons, and 25% dislike you for the right reasons. It’s only the last group you have to be concerned about..I don’t count you among that group.

Tell you what. This radical, left-wing, union-lovin’, tree-huggin’ secular humanist yellow dog Demmycrat has bought a lawn chair and a six-pack to watch the GOP tear itself apart. Should be a fun show.

Gittin’,I’d move that lawn chair back a bit. When the GOP implodes, there may be shrapnel, with such a complete vacuum at the center!
