Vice President Dick Cheney’s personal approval ratings are low, but his message seems to be resonating. A new poll by RT Strategies found that 70 percent of Americans said criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale, and a majority believe that the motive of the criticism is to "gain a partisan political advantage."

But this poll wasn’t on Daily Kos or the Daily Show!!
Long before Democrats found a backbone on this subject. I heard the common people criticism of the war and the events leading to it.The word finally got to Washington, so now they are just jumping on the bandwagon.
This just gos to show how out of touch those in Washington are with the rest of the Nation.
They seem to love their killing spree so much as to ask for more time to enjoy themselves.
Perhaps their zeal will cause America to look like Fallujah,… their “great victory.”
If telling the TRUTH about how we got there hurts moral, then we probably don’t belong there anyway. In WWII, the truth was the best thing for recruiting. Hmmmm… I wonder why it’s not bringing in volunteers now?
Pay attention here libs…
70 percent may not like the way the war is being run. and they may not like the reason we went.
BUT 70% also see right through you phonies who run around critizisng the war, you are clearly seen as political posturizers who don’t stand on principle.
Agree or disagee with Bush on policy….He is a man of principle that does not waver, and that is the only reason he is still in the white house.
I am just sorry that the administration let the Democrat’s hypocritical and unsubstanciated attacks go on so long before answering them. It’s also good to know that the American people can still put two and two together at times. I was beginnging to wonder.
70% is in a trick question designed to appear as something which it is not.
Americans want out of this trap of Iraq, and all the “trick” questions in the world won’t save that GD Cheney’s ass.
Am I making myself clear?
Sounds like the only freedom left for our troops to protect is the freedom to agree with Cheney.
“Americans want out of this trap of Iraq,” -Ed
for you libs…..If we let only the current and retired soldiers in the armed forces decide elections who do you think would be in office? would we have went to Iraq? where would we be today?
QUIT PRETENDING that you are the soldiers advocate you phony handwringers!
What are talking about?
Pay attention dummys.
Pose the “question” this way: Do you think it helps or hurts the morale of soldiers fighting a war to criticize that war?
Now, of course it hurts morale, but that’s a long, long, long way from supporting Cheney.
That’s how a “trick ” question works.
Now, have you stop beating your mother lately? Yes.. No…
“Of course it hurts morale” -Ed
Therefore does not contribute to victory and certainly isn’t patriotic
What victory? All the morale in the world won’t make that happen.
Don’t you keep-up with the news?
Ed, I suspect this is their first real war. But what’s really unpatriotic is to put our soldiers in danger in a phoney war. Face it repubs, your excellent little war is on the skids. History has shown you don’t win against an insurgency like this. You support a war that has no justification or end, and that’s traitorous. I suspect that before this is all over, a lot of your heros in Washington are going to have a lot to answer for (if they don’t get charged with other crimes first). Let’s be real. This is a corrupt war pushed by a corrupt party.

They’re not trying to win, anymore than the Israelis ever considered a Palestinian State.
It has taken the Israelis 60 years to position the Palestinians for extermination. They will be herded out of the West Bank and into the Gaza Strip. Once there they’ll meet Arafat fate.
Read to Zionist manifesto and PNAC for their real intentions.
These guys are really bad-news. And Bush has thrown-in with them. Bush has three years to turn the United States into a police State.
Meanwhile it will keep being the military wing of the Israelis.

Stay focused. These people are not Republicans. They call themselves Noeconservatives to sidetrack your thinking. Notice that they care nothing about deficits, spending, taxes, freedoms, torture, constitutional guarantees, international law, the Geneva Conventions, accountability, justice, truth-telling, personal liberty, or just about any basic American value you can think about, from either side of the isle.
Look what they did to the Katrina victims. Did they ever care, or do they care now?
Did they send troops into battle without body armor, or armored humvees? Do they care about Iraqi dead? Chemical weapons?
Now tell me what you think.
Ed, you call them what you want. I call them misguided and resist the temptation to call them “the enemy”. I fought and bled and my friends and brothers died defending the civil liberties and rights these people are so happy to dismantle. I’ve been posting on these blogs for a while now. You KNOW what I think.
Speaking out for the truth and wanting answers to lies isn’t what hurts our troops.
What hurts our troops is not having an exit plan.Never having a plan for peace after the occupation.
From the same people who beat their chest and said we should never go to war in Bosnia without a clear exit plan.
Been there-done that. The thing that hurts troop morale is wondering what the hell am I doing here, or does anyone know what’s going on. Considering Cheney was a legal draft dodger during Viet Nam, he should keep his mouth shut.
Bush is nothing more than a puppet.
Karl Rove is busy painting a picture of a “victory” where no “Victory” can possibly exist.
Karl’s ploy is to suggest that we are robbing the troops of their “victory” without having to define it.
Karl can’t define a “victory” because no definition is possible, other than murdering all the Iraqi People { over 1 billion }.
The only “jobs” being offered to Iraqis is pitting them against one another. Karl wants a civil war only under his direction, and for us to allow that to happen means we must endorse a never-ending murdering spree. A controlled extermination of the Arab world. If they attack the United States in that process, and they will, then that’s fine with Karl, as that gives him even more fuel for more killing, which is the only point of this so-called “war.”
I know that y’all don’t like this, but it all comes back to that map of “greater Israel” which Bush gave to Ariel Sharon. That map shows Israel as stretching all the way from the Nile River in Egypt to the Euphrates River in Iraq.
That’s why they’re so adamant about staying on this murdering spree.
They actually need the Arabs to attack America so as to allow “Homeland Security to swing into shredding what’s left of our constitution. That’s why the “Patriotic Act” stands ready to cancel all of our constitutional guarantees, under the farce of protecting us.
The way to end this war is to make friends with the Arabs by addressing their legitimate complaints. But that means that Israel would have to give-up its quest for world conquest.
Somebody needs to dig into that poll a little more. Perhaps what it means is don’t critize if you don’t have a plan.
And Democrats have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they don’t have a plan. Sometimes I wonder if they have a CLUE . . . but I digress.
If Dems would put forward positive alternatives to BushCo. they could get somewhere.
I wonder though, what do the respondants think about the Republicans (the growing and vocal Republicans) that also criticise the war?

Two “Plans”
1. Stay: more dead bodies.
2. Leave: Less dead bodies.

What does Haliburton Oil company have to do with anything?
How much in US dollars have been paid to Haliburton. How many billions of dollars?
Has Dick Cheney ever had any direct ties to this corporation in America?
He was their CEO.
