You’re brilliant. No, really, you are . . .

It’s hard to know which is more outlandish: Harriet Miers reportedly telling David Frum that President George Bush was the most brilliant man she had ever met. Or Bush insisting Tuesday that Miers was the best-qualified person he could find in the country for the high court.
These two apparently don’t get around much.

They must be “bumping uglies”.I can say that, can’t I?

She looks too much like the lady from some failed comedy central series that used to say: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.” What was her name?

Hmmm, cronies on the Surpreme Court. That would explain a lot about some decisions.

That’s what scary. Bush really meant it–”she’s the most qualified person I could find.”

Hey, George, qualified people aren’t as hard to find as Osama bin Forgotten.

Maybe they are the two smartest people among those they know. That says a lot about whom they associate with.

I just read Ann Coulter’s tirade about Miers. There’s just no end to republican hypocracy. When Democrats used the “consent” part of Advise and Consent, the republicans threatened to go nuclear. Now it seems Ann thinks “consent” has a place in the discussion. Funny creatures, these republicans.

When Bush looses the support of Ann and Rush, he’s in deep doo-doo.

This is HIGH entertainment! I gotta say that first off. Imagine the right FINALLY figuring out that bush is an empty suit sock puppet. You folks forced/sold this guy on us ……..you sold out. ANd now you are sold out. How’s it feel? For me it is sweet revenge. It is just too bad the country has to suffer for it.

“bush is the most brilliant man I have ever met”either this woman does not get out much or she is mentally deficient. Neither of these make her attractive to be a supreme court justice.

“she is the most qualified for the job” sigh……..Well I guess when you have already plumbed the depths of complete and total failure, one more lie don’t mean much.

My take? Bush is like Hitler in the bunker circa April 1945. His whole world has been reduced to a small group of yes men and women driven underground from a conflagration he made. He makes grand but imaginary plans, he promotes his few remaining followers who bask in the fading light that they try to shine on him.

Liberals should not be too happy at the effect his appointee has on Republicans. She thinks, “bush is the most brilliant man I have ever met”

He keeps this up how much longer will it be before he “Invades” the DNC? Although Dean would be easier to find then Sadam was. You just listen for the “Yeh Ha”. Sorry friend I just could not help myself!

Ooh…JR…scary but true imagery you gave us. That is a fair representation of what is obviously going on. I am starting to think Bushy is scared. He is in a 15 foot deep hole and no rope to even hang himself with.It is going to be an interesting 3 years! Maybe a bit terrifying also!

How about a thread on the latest revelations about Ronnie Earles grand jury shopping, and the fact that the charges he brought in the first indictment were for something that wasnt illegal when Delay allegedly committed them????????…………….Well?

    Sorry.

Yeah Jr now the bunker scene is in my head. But the way things are going for G.W. in the end he takes the pistol. Put it to his head and shoots Cheney.

Yeah the bunker scene has been rattling around my head ever since it occurred to me. Bad thing is can’t find anything to dispute it and plenty to bolster it. So at the risk of further infecting others with this haunting parallel, consider:

The first thing is Miers. Inner circle stuff. Then the weird speech he made to defend his pick. Bush has always been a lousy speaker, but in that speech he seemed …….disconnected?

Futher, bush never has been allowed to speak to any but carefully handpicked audiences. Any protesters are kept far away. And we know bush does not read or watch television. Gives me to wonder if he really knows how controversial he is.

More fuel for bunker image today. Though bush spoke with Churchillian rhetoric, the speech did not depart from the same old theme “we will win” “stay the course” etc. etc. It did not seem to confront reality or announce any new strategies. Just… we will win.

Hitler launched his last offensive only a few days before he took his life. His attack force consisted of children and old men collected along the road. They went against more than 30 Russian divisions.

Hitler was actually incredulous and furious when this pitifully unrealistic offensive failed.

Why would you hope that Bush will invade Iran and Syria? Do you know how many American lives that will take only to satisfy Israel?

Or is that OK with you?
