I’ll be surprised if Vice President Dick Cheney gets indicted in the Valerie Plame case. But even if he isn’t, the reports that it was Cheney who told his chief of staff Scooter Libby that Plame worked for the CIA are still damaging to the administration. And what about the White House pledge made on Sept. 29, 2003, that if the probe discovers that someone in the administration did leak, that person "would no longer be in this administration”?

That day is coming, just as soon as those pigs start spouting wings!
Maybe now we’ll find out if Bush is president or merely Cheney’s puppet!
Word on the street is that indictments have been delivered to the relevant parties and will be made public tomorrow. Word on the street is also that we should expect to see some Big Fish in Fitzgerald’s net.
Should be quite a show watching folks on this board whore themselves out to Rove’s spin that to lie to a grand jury isn’t an indictable offense. It’ll be a full-court press.
This is too much.
Vice President Dick Cheney has agreed to take the fall for Bush’s brain Karl Rove.
Do you suppose all the ” nonessentials ” drew straws? Or could it have the ” dartboard ” method?
Actually I don’t think it was either one.
Only Karl is allowed to make decisions in the White House, after all, that’s who we elected President.
We didn’t know that at the time, but we sure do know it now.
I’m no fan of the Bush administration, but why is Cheney’s telling Libby about Plame any big deal. It is one member of the upper echelons of the administration telling another. It was the outing of Ms. Plame to the general public through the NY Times that was the crime, and I don’t think Cheney is as yet linked to that event.
Brian,
Because in his earlier testimony, Libby had denied discussing this with Cheney, and because Cheney himself has publicly denied talking about Joseph Wilson. Both of them appear to have lied under oath.
Here’s my counterspin: for officials who are responsible for the public trust, to cover up is equal in seriousness to any other crime.
Thank you CF. I haven’t been keeping up with this particular issue…some minor family crises latyely..not serious but distracting.
I agree that aiding and abetting is just as bad.
Totally unrelated question–I’ve been outta town. Has the George Clooney movie “Good Night and Good Luck” been here yet?
I see that about 6 theaters are showing “Doom” for heaven’s sake . . .
Vice President has the right to know everybody in the government. Both Cheney and Libby have Security Clearance and have every right to talk about Plame.
Hell yes, after all he is the president. lol
Phillip, seriously…get a grip, brother. Cheney had a conversation about a guy who months later ended up involved in an investigation. Because of that he needs to resign? Meds….get some.
So, Joe, if Cheney does resign, does that mean you’ll be going in for psychological counselling and getting the help YOU so desperately need?
Nope :-)
Both of them appear to have lied under oath.-CF
Really? How do you know? At this point there has been no indictments and you certainly have not read the depositions…YOU are making crap up and throwing it around like a monkey at the zoo.
If the did lie than punish them severely i have NO patience for lying weazels republican od democrat…….But right now there is NO STORY HERE!
