Things getting too hot in Old Town at night

A night in Old Town is not supposed to be like one in the Old West. So it’s encouraging to see that the Wichita Police Department has been cracking down on troublemakers in the entertainment district, citing 26 people Saturday night alone. As Old Town is giving Wichitans and tourists a good time, it’s supposed to be delivering on millions of dollars of public investment. Public drunkenness and urination or worse are not welcome there.

Typical weekend there in Old Town. Most people just mind their own business, but you are bound to get a few people who will be crazy when alcohol is involved.

At least our cops don’t go punching some old man like they did in New Orleans.

Things are apparently too hot on the ol’ blog as well. I noticed they removed Randy Scholfield’s item about Marge Pheleps (however you spell her name).

I was thinking the same thing Justaguy….

You see this type of thing happening… yet there are no adult stores there. However, I bet if you were to put one in Old Town, then the officials would blame this kind of behavior on the adult store!

Back in the day,– an Adult Store was J.C. Penney. It was a place you went, to do your business. You didn’t go there, with the idea of who could you embarrass, what kind of disturbance could you make; getting drunk and disorderly, fights and stabbings.

Society today, is just one tiny step, above the animal. Do whatever you wanna do, don’t have any respect for anyone else and above all else, make sure my rights are protected.

If it takes an entire army, to protect the average citizen going to Old Town, that expense should not be spared. Lock up the troublemakers, first and foremost!

First you have to have tourists. I don’t patronize Old Town, figuring I have donated enough through tax dollars. I might though if they open an adult theater and Rhonda will agree to accompany me. lol

I don’t go to old town because of all the cops. If they just harrassed the hoodlums and the troublemakers, I might. But that’s not the case. They are equal opportunity harrassers.
