Once more, troops, with feeling

It wasn’t a bad idea to have President Bush do a pep-talk show with U.S. troops (and one Iraqi) via satellite in advance of Saturday’s constitutional referendum. But the stage management that was inadvertently exposed through a satellite feed error was embarrassing, especially the preshow coaching by a Pentagon official. Unfortunately, it was consistent with this administration’s controlling way with the media. A famously similar slipup before one of Ronald Reagan’s speeches (“We begin bombing in five minutes”) at least showed the world the lighter side of the Cold War.

The female soldier was from Army PR. What a load of crap! The administration needs to go back to constant terror alerts to regain control. Maybe that doesn’t work on Democrats, but it keeps conservatives busy crapping their pants. Must be rough being a conservative living in constant fear.

    BOO!

What was the name of the movie where the President stage a fake war to gain popularity?”Wag the dog” I think that was it.Maybe that is what is going on here, except in this wag thousands have lost their lifes. The President has lost his populatity. This country is losing part of its soul and innocents.

There is only one real similarity between the movie and the way this President has been acting. Both are a comedy but the real life wag is hardly laughable.

How about this? We’ve worn-out the Zionist word “terrorist” and I propose that we use a new word. How about this: ” Frightenist “It sort of means the same thing as “scaring somebody to death,” but, at least isn’t the same old tired-out word terrorist, which has really lost its meaning. Now, it might take a little getting used to, but if we could maybe get the Arab world to sign-off on it, which I’m pretty sure that they’re plenty tired of “the other word” so, they’d probably just go-for-it.Bush, My Idiot President,{ once he learned how to pronounce it, remember Abu Ghraib } could lay claim to changing a word that the world is really tired of anyway, and maybe get a Nobel Prize or something like a medal from the Boy-Scouts.I know this much: I really don’t want to hear that “other word” anymore. How about you?We could all have a “war on frightenism” complete with “frightenists.” And, also: “Bump-in-the-night-alerts” Our slogan: You are either ” ascared of us or not ” { ascared is “more better” than just scared }Hamas, Hisbollah, IDF, Rumsfeld, guess what you’ve just become?……………………. Boo!And just in time for Halloween.

The lady on the bottom row to the left is a media spokesperson ( Corine Lombardo for the military. They couldnt’ find regular soldiers to make answer the questions?, or did they just not trust in the answers of the regular soldiers?

RD, I’ve thought about that movie, Wag the Dog again and again during this administration. Has anyone ever read hand maids tale by Margaret Atwood?

Well, it’s good to see everything is going just great in Iraq. Just listen to the officers who were coached to say it is.

Faith based science, faith based war policy, faith based Supreme court nominees, faith based reporting.

They’re consistent, by golly, they’re consistent. Let no fact stand in the way of the belief. Let no truth emerge from the maintence of that belief.

Holy Mackeral! Louis Freeh (former FBI director) is on “Meet the Presstitute” intoning that IRAN was responsible for the Khobar Towers bombing!

That’s nonsense. Iran had no motive to do this. Al Qaeda had every motive to do it.

Sounds like BushCo. is getting ready to “widen the war” on terror.

Bush and his fundamentalist hordes are trying to trigger the “End Times”. God hasn’t been quick enough to bring on Armageddon to suit the religious right, so they’re going to hurry things. Lately we’ve made several incursions into Syria and I have no doubt that eventually, we’ll find an excuse to pick a fight with Iran, too.

This morning on The Terry Fox show, he was hitting hard on Iran and it is every Christians duty to support any actions against Iran. You may have hit the nail on the head. “Hello Iran, ding-dong Bush and the holy war calling”

Is there any difference in this compared to anybody else. The Media does this for their own guest and commentators. I’m sure Bill Clinton did this. I mean it is the normal part of television.

If I were to be on Television, I would want to be prep as well.

Joe, we’re not just talking about “anybody else” here, we’re talking about the president. You’re sure Bill Clinton did this? Based on what, Joe? Please provide some documentation. Clinton didn’t “do it” because he never got himself into the stupid predicament Bush has managed to get us into. Bush got caught in another lie. This wasn’t a give and take; it was another staged photo op.

Oh my goodness XXX. You have to be kidding right?

In June of 1994, President Bill Clinton was attending the 50th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. While walking down the beach, pretending there were no cameras around, Saturday Night Bill came upon some stones. He knelt down and placed the stones in a shape of a cross and looked all sad and stuff. But guess what? The rocks were put there by an advance man, and the whole entire thing was staged. Every bit of it. Just like every other presidential photo opportunity.

It’s okay when Clinton did, but not when Bush prep some troops for live tv?

Just use Google and type on Clinton Photo-op or tv prep and you will come up with enough proof.

So the Rich, spoiled Frat-boy, who with the help of his dad, bought the presidency went, there by satellite TV. He’s comfy and safe, while his men take all the risks. What a hero

    Joe Williams is SO dumb.

Did Bill Clinton interview the rocks? Were they pre-scripted?

I thought not. So the two events aren’t comparable in any way.

Pretty much all politicians stage events to their benefit. Anyone who thinks ‘their guy’ is too good for that kind of thing obviously never met ‘their guy’.

Wasn’t some form of legislature passed so the government doesnt’ even need approval to invade Iran if they felt there was need?

Legal, constitutional, or anyway you look at it, the President nowadays only asks for war declarations after the fact.

Well we’ve invaded a country.Either you’re with us or against us. That’s the way it’s done today.
