Is Brownback milking his doubts about Miers?

When Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., was asked by a New Hampshire student this week what one thing he would have done differently as president over the past five years, Brownback didn’t point to Sept. 11 or Iraq or the busted budget or even Michael Brown. He went for Harriet Miers: “We just don’t know her background on judicial restraint and on the Constitution.” True, but it’s hard to tell whether Brownback is withholding his endorsement because he’s really thinking of opposing her nomination or because holding out is doing wonders for his media profile.

Sam’s act is just like Harriet’s.He can’t openly say what he believes either. Why not?

Sorry SamBrownback and ten other senators on both sides are one issue candidates. Abortion. It is one of the most nonpolitical issue in play. It is pure religion. You can’t be president on one issue.

You can if you can parly it into hiding every other issue. Smoke and mirrors…Smoke and mirrors. The Republicans have used abortion to gain the Religious rights support. The Democrats have used it to gain support making it an issues of losing rights.

It is settled law so neither side can win or lose. But it has been used by both parties to hide their shortcomings.

Of COURSE Brownback is using this for media exposure. And more power to him I say!

I hope that whackaloon is the GOP nominee. Not only will he fail dismally, but then maybe the nation at whole can help us address the question “What is the Matter with Kansas?”

I’m totally amazed at the comments on blogs from people in other parts of the country about en. Sam Brownback, R-Kan. They think he’s a complete idiot. I find their arguments convincing.
