At the tender age of 30, Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., has more standing than anyone else in Congress to this recent claim: “This place is a much more sophisticated junior high school. There are the nice guys that everybody likes, the jocks, the geeks, the bullies — they’re all here.” This line of thought has had bloggers at RedState.org trying to liken lawmakers to their school counterparts (Tom DeLay as bully, Dennis Kucinich as band kid, Nancy Pelosi as hippie, etc.). Not hard to place “Todd the Bod” Tiahrt (actual nickname from his youth) among the jocks, but what of Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts?

Brownback would have been part of the debate and forensics geeks, and who was the other guy?Oh yea, Roberts was one of the wallflowers that nobody remembers.
Senator Roberts, a former U.S. Marine, would have been a tough but fair, humorous, JROTC member in his Middle School days. He is a great representative of Kansas.
Escapees from the funny farm?
Pat Roberts is the smarmy teacher’s pet. “Can I erase the chalkboard for you, Mr. Bush?”
He’s the tattle tale and yes man that even the teacher’s despise.
Old Rubber Stamp.
Given his support for torture, Roberts would have been the guy pulling the wings off flies and blowing up frogs on the class overnight camping trip.
Given that Brownback is a former national president of Future Farmers of America…(I’ll play Crowson, fill in the blank, LOL).
Roberts is a farm boy and Brownback is the church boy.
