Don’t they have better things to do?

White House staffers could probably use a laugh right now to distract them from all the serious talk of indictments and Harriet Miers. Maybe that’s why some of them are reading The Onion.
But this New York Times article makes me question White House spokesman Trent Duffy’s claim that the staffers “have a sense of humor, believe it or not.”
Apparently the White House took time to write a letter to The Onion, asking that it quit using the presidential seal with its parody of the president’s weekly radio address.
Scott Dikkers, editor in chief of the satirical paper, wrote in response, “I’m surprised the president deems it wise to spend taxpayer money for his lawyer to write letters to The Onion.”

    One of their recent stories was “Bush to Appoint Someone to Run the Country.”

    Ain’t that the truth . . .

    If Bush was so upset about The “Onion” he ought to be furious about AIPAC defacing the American Flag on their website. They’ve divided the American Flag into four parts. Two for them and two for us. Notice their version of our new Government: Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Hillary Clinton and the leadership of Congress. See for yourselves.

    This reminds me of the attempted Communist takeover back in the 50s. Sen. Joe McCarthy smoked them out and dragged them before a congressional committee on un-American activities.

    Most were having their “meeting” in Hollywood and went to jail rather than admit they were members of the Communist Party dedicated to the overthrow of the United States Government.

    Since then they’ve rewritten history and made McCarthy the bad-guy. What a farce.

    Well guess what? They’reeeee backkkkkkkkk.

    { only this time they control the MSM, which put them in jail the last time }

    Why doesn’t The Onion ask Bush to stop using the presidential Seal?

    The Onion could offer to just store it until we get a president.
