Teachers are less qualified because under the American system it’s a somewhat demeaning job and the pay sucks.

I taught high-school for two years as a full-time teacher before I bailed. What with the rah-rah-sis-boom-bah, the lunch duty, the constant bookkeeping and the low pay, it just wasn’t worth it to me.
