Another Corkins credential bites the dust?

Supporters of Bob Corkins say that one of his key qualifications for the job as Kansas education commissioner is his experience working with the Legislature. But it is mostly only conservative lawmakers who have much good to say about Corkins. The former Republican chairwoman of the Senate Tax Committee, Audrey Langworthy of Prairie Village, banned Corkins from her office when he was a tax lobbyist for the Kansas Chamber of Commerce, the Lawrence Journal-World reported. Former Senate President Dick Bond, R-Overland Park, told the Journal-World: “I do recall many of the (tax) committee members didn’t have a lot of respect for his testimony and questioned at times the information he gave the committee.” And former Senate President Dave Kerr, R-Hutchinson, told The Eagle that legislators value accuracy and open-mindedness. “That’s not something I thought I had seen with Mr. Corkins over the years,” he said.

Mr. Corkins was hired by the State Board of Education-

“Corkins, 44, was hired on a 6-4 vote by the state board’s conservative majority. He replaces Andy Tompkins, who retired in June to teach graduate studies at the University of Kansas.”

The State Board of Education was elected by YOU, the voters of this state.

    Get a clue!

This is the last straw. It’s time to not just do away with Corkins . . . it’s time to get rid of the State BOE.

Boy, after reading the new Kansas education commissioner letter in today Eagle. Several thoughts and sayings came to mind.

He is for the funding of home schooling and private schools.

He see the institute of education as a buisness and it should be ran on the same principals.

He believes that the standards as currently in place should be changed.

He tends to speak to the elite in his wording and his use of phrases.

Now for the sayings:If you can not blind them with brilliance, baffle them with B.S.

“Why are you using all them ten dollar words. It an’t that we can not understand you. It just makes you sound like you think you are better than us.”.

From the readers digest hummor in uniform:A first lietenant was taking paratroop training. On the plane heading to make his first jump, a Sargent setting next to him. Noticed that the Lietenant’s knees were knocking. He asked the Lietenant,” Nervious Lietenant?”"Apperhension Sargent”The sargent thought for a moment, then asked, “what is the difference?”.The Lietenant responded, “That is being nervious with a college education.”

Some where in a thousand words said, lay the truth and the lie.But if someone said a thousand words on a subject, there are more lies then truth. For the truth is often just a few words.
