Two years in the making, Kansas’ entry in the U.S. Mint’s popular 50 State Quarters Program officially went into circulation Friday at the Kansas State Fair. The quarter’s clean design is nothing flashy — just a bison and some sunflowers. OK, some also would say it’s nothing much. But our image-challenged state can use the exposure these quarters will afford it as they move from hand to hand through the nation’s economy for decades to come.

Actually, I think the coin should have images of people in Kansas because the people are great! The help and support given for the people in N.O. is just one example.
I think the coin was very well done.. Thank you for keeping it simple yet powerful!
As a coin collector…they stink!
As a coin collector…they stink! And the sunflower will be mistaken by the cops that think its marijuana :-)( see saturday paper) the same morons that let BTK run loose for so long.
