Another tragic example of the breakdown in disaster relief efforts: The bodies of 45 people were found in a flooded New Orleans hospital. Some of these bodies were of people who died before the hurricane, but some of them died while waiting to be evacuated. Wouldn’t local disaster plans identify the hospitals — as well as the Superdome and convention center — as key targets for relief? More heads than just Michael Brown’s need to roll.

YES! All local, All Democrats!
Homeland Security, my eye! Gee, what happened to the great plan our country was supposed to have to deal with a terrorist attack? If its a natural disaster, and they have prior knowledge that it will be one…there’s no plan??? Obviously that’s the case. And Joe, democrats weren’t in charge of FEMA….your buddies unqualified pals were!
Dead people in hospitals. It’s Rove’s dream. Mr. Buzz Flash told me that, so you can’t blame this on Democrats Mr. Joe, Ed, Charlie. or whatever your name is, because it’s that monkey brain who did it when he had his picture taken with helicopters and even smiled once.
VIGILANCE! TO THE BARRICADES! Whatever.
I had an original idea once, but lost it. Maybe next year it will happen again.
Next year I’m going to get a life. I really am. You’ll see. Then I’ll be somebody and I’ll show you. I won’t have to sniff blogs all day to get my jollies.
The person in charge of them is now facing charges of manslaughter.
Has anyone read the article/interview of the nurse that was in the hospital and has moved to Wichita? http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/news/special_packages/hurricane_katrina/12630493.htmShe said “authorities” confiscated the hospital supplies and generators. The only “authorities” in NO at the time were police and fire. They aren’t “democrats” or “republicans” voted into office. No one can put the blame on a political party…that is ridiculous! And if you all want to talk about corrupt City Governments, you don’t have to look very far. Wichita is wrought with unscrupulous deals. So I don’t want to hear about the democratic city government of NO.I don’t think there was little, if any, communication within the city for a week between the police, fire and city officials. If the National Guard had come in earlier and set up their communication networks and taken the employees of the city under their command, we wouldn’t have had the stories we are now hearing.
Okay, that last post by “me” was not by me.
My posts, like them or not, are at least rational.
You know you’re effective when the opposition stoops to troll tactics.
Keep it up, losers . . .
John Kerry on GW “accepting responsibility”–
“This Administration still hasn’t figured out the difference between spin and leadership. The President has done the obvious, only after it was clear he couldn’t get away with the inexcusable. President Bush has accepted Michael Brown’s resignation and admitted the buck stops in the Oval Office. But there are a lot of survivors who want to know whether this will change anything. Does the White House even understand the problem? The Administration had four years after September 11th to get this right, and they were caught unforgivably unprepared to deal with a major emergency here at home. Do they now understand that our government’s efforts and resources have been going to the wrong priorities? What are they doing to make sure this never happens again other than talking tough talk?”
I think what troubles me most is that REAL help arrived……..right when bush helicoptered in! Is it just a coincidence the split-screen with bush conferring with local authorities on one side/ and the troop and helicopter convoys on the other? Seems kinda scripted to me.
REAL help arrived before Bush arrived, in the person of Gen. Honore.
Minor correction.
soulface, you’re a liar.
Liar
You guys crack me up. This has gone from a blog to a “who can bad mouth whom” web site. Ya’al need to take a time out and figure out what it is you’re trying to do here: argue difinitive points or sound like some school yard dweebs. You still have bypassed my question: Now that Bush has accepted responsibility for the lack of response to the disaster, how are all you libs going to deal with it? After all, all of you claimed that no Republican would EVER admit any kind of wrong doing. How do you want your crow served?Notice carefully that I am taking no stand on Bush’s acknowledgement whatsoever.(I can see where this will go already)
Calling Bush “Shrub” isn’t quite correct. A shrub has its roots in the dirt and its head in the air, not the reverse. Takes a lot of chutzpah to fly in days later for a photo op. Makes you feel real safe, doesn’t it? You can look up with your cold dead eyes to see some idiot saying, “Oh my, isn’t this a mess….” We must rebuild. Doesn’t help you much if you’re DEAD!
Soulface–
That last post by “Galahad” was not by me.
This is starting to get annoying, isn’t it.
But it does show the difference between us and them.
So keep doing it, loser.
Oops, SoulFYRE, not Soulface, although I kinda like Soulface . . .
JM Walker, don’t hold your breath. The left wing isn’t into reality. The ones who post here all seem to be childish, angry, obsessive-compulsive types who absolutely must have the last word, even though they have nothing to add to any blog.
Hehehe, Anon.
You mean like the high-minded, “value added” comment you just made?
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Jesus.
See what you libs have done? You’ve upset JM and Anon! Why you should be ashamed of yourselves! Here JM has given you the benefit of his many personalities, and Anon has bent over forward for you, and this is how you reward them!? For Shame!!!!
I want all you libs to say 50 hell merrys and 25 screw yous as penance!
Bad libs!
roll dover,What many personalities? And how am I upset? “(I can see where this will go already)”(My last sentence…Im still laughing). You wouldn’t be related to the king lib in his own mind, GetReal, now, would you?You still didn’t answer my question. Perhaps if I included the meaning of the word “accepted”? Perhaps if I included the meaning of any words? Maybe sent you a dictionary?Say your own prayers, amigo.
There are so many things that are just wrong about how Katrina was handled. There are two things that worry me about Katrina’s recovery.
One is the way the media was barred from New Orleans. Even after CNN took them to court to be able to have media present for the recovery efforts.A soldier said the policy was 300 meters from the efforts(about 3 football fields) Then added a threat if reporters wrote stories or took pictures of body recoveries, they would be reported and face consequences, he said, including a loss of access for up-close coverage of certain military operations. You can argue the merits of photographs/no photographs, but the story is there. You might not know that CNN reporters were there right after the storm, helping to rescue people. If reporters begin to be subject to threats by the government, how long before the news we hear isnt’ real?http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/09/13/MNG3HEMQHG1.DTLThe other is our leadership. It’s not enough that he was walking around with atta-boys when they weren’t doing anything. What really sticks in my throat is the way the administration was loudly proclaiming the Governor of Louisiana was the problem, Even incorrectly accusing her of not filing the paperwork. A fact easily verified. When Governor Blanco tried to call him two days after the storm she couldn’t reach Bush. He was unavailable to a Governor during a disaster. The part that is hardest to swallow is the way he was so very available for the Governor of Mississippi. Mississippi’s governer said Bush called him 3 or 4 times in the wake of Katrina.http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-09-12-two-governors_x.htm
What would explain the discrepancy? Is it a “you’re either with me or against me” philosophy? just the good ol boy system? or “She’s not on my speed dial? ” Maybe he just didn’t think about it. I’d hate to think he just didn’t care.
Oh we has tweaked the nose of the JM? Him what has bad-mouthed plenty in his multiple roles. My is we high and mighty! So what role shall it be today troll? JM? Cletus? T-Rex? Elvis? Ian? Sally? I din’t answer your question? Is there something in the law that requires me to? Is you da blog monitor? In fact, why am I talking to you at all?Go away, you bother me, boy.
Ben Dover foranybody,Wow, six personalities. And here I thought I only had two. You ARE related to GetReal, aintca, boy?Being a high priest O’ da Libs, you can’t answer my question. It would mark you as observant and intelligent, something neither lib nor conservative is known for.My tear ducts are dry from laughing so hard.
” Now that Bush has accepted responsibility for the lack of response to the disaster, how are all you libs going to deal with it?”
Well, first we’ll appoint an independent commission. Oh, I guess the repubs won’t allow that.
Well, we’ll start impeachment proceedings. Oops, can’t do that, in congress, the repubs are in charge…the asylum is run by the inmates.
Well JM, I guess your boy Bush will just thumb his nose at the American people and get away with it. Nothing new to see here; everybody just move along.
Hey GetReal! I’m Ben! Meet yer evil twin, LOL.
Let me get this straight.Shortly after the hurricane went through. While the electricity was out for hospitals and most of Mississippi. Cheney was calling to be sure the first substations to be started would be the pipeline that sent oil to the Northeast.American, where are your priorities?http://www.hattiesburgamerican.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050911/NEWS05/509110304
Sure didn’t help gas prices tho. I’d hate to be anybody in New Orleans. It’s like everybody’s fighting over a dead body instead of checking to see if the body is really dead. Poor friends in New O.
There there, Pookie knows…
It is little surprise that the few remaining “Shrubbists” (true believers in bush) should take on many nics and post under them. After all, bush approval is at 38%. But hey! They got him in with phony numbers and a court stacked by his daddy!
It really is perfect. We got a pretend man for a “president”. We got us a real war launched for pretend reasons. Finally we got us a natural disaster where the oh so compassionate conservatives PRETEND to care.
So it’s little surprise that the few remaining shrubbists PRETEND at many identities. It’s ok shrubbies. Just shut your eyes, change your name, and keep shouting stay the course! But remember that when we all hit that iceberg with you, it aint the ship that is going down, it is you and your “captain”. Stand on your roof and shout when it happens, I don’t think anyone will be coming to rescue ya.
Ben boyObsfucation, the lib word for facts. Baffle em with bs, as intelligence is something foreign to the lib mind. Never answer a question straight out, ponder the reasons behind the question; if it’s asked by any other than another lib, it’s a loaded question. Trust no one! Bitch about everything, and everyone not associated with the lib cause (whatever that is).Paranoia at its liberal finest.
