The awful images from London today recall the shock felt around the world after Sept. 11, and remind us that terrorists make no exceptions for innocents when they sow death and destruction. Some Europeans will see these attacks as a reason to rethink or scale back the war on terrorism. Instead, the Group of Eight leaders should set aside their growing divisions in the name of fighting this war as one. Terrorism may be a threat the civilized world has to learn to live with, meaning there will never be a “T-Day,” but nations must come together on long-term strategies aimed at capturing terrorists and preventing more attacks.

How terrible. Today, we are all British.
While the “terrorist” blathers are so busy blaming Islam and propping-up the sagging credibility of “war on terrorism,” the perpetrators of the bombing attack in Britain { As reported by CNN } are clearing stating that this attack is in retaliation for “The massacres of the people of Afghanistan and Iraq.” This violence is not going to stop until we stop creating it, or stop allowing others to create it for us.

The first rule of our enemy is to kill as many infidels as possible. Rule number 10 or so is “infiltrate American Blogs with as much pro terrorist garbage as possible”
Ed,
Who was it that we were massacreing when they hit the world trade center?
If it wasn’t for his quotation marks I might think badly of Ed.
The attack in London just proves what Our President is saying. Even if they did blow up a bunch of stuff in London, at least it wasn’t here which proves Bush was right to attack Iraq. By keeping all the terrorists tied up In Iraq, they couldn’t afford enough people to attack America, but had to make do with hitting the British, a bunch of weak-kneed sissies. Remember, Our Great President said he’d protect us, not the limys. And he did. All you liberals just need to stop bitching all the time and join Our Leader. He has a plan for you, for all of us. God sent us George W Bush, so when you liberals go against George W Bush, you go against God. Just think about that!
How can anyone make the leap that the terrorists would stop if we left Afganistan and Iraq? It was them that started the conficlt. If they want us out of there they should stop not us. Don’t you think we could remove troops if they stopped killing not only our men and women, but there own people. Yet we still have people in this country that see a bombing such as London suffered and it is our fault not the terrorist. This type of thinking baffles me.
Yes Darrel that thinking baffels me, too. If we weren’t fighting the Iraqis and the Afganians, why in no time they’d rebuild their countries and their armies and before you know it, the Iraq army would be on our doorstep pretending to be illeagle mexicans or something so they could sneak in and blow up the World Trade Center again. The Iraqi people are so sneaky. Our Great Army goes in and blows up their towns and homes and when they leave, why those Iraqi’s just sneak right back in. How many times do our Brave Soldiers have to kill Iraqis for them to understand? We’re just there to bring them peace and freedom. How much of their country do we have to blow up to make them understand that we’re the good guys?I know that it is not the average Joe Iraqi that’s fighting us, it’s those people who aren’t from Iraq who are causing all the problems. But as Our Great Vicepresident says, they’re in their last throws, which is not a good thing. Our Brave Soldiers are there to kill foriegners and if innocent Iraqis get killed, well I guess they need to ask themselves what they were doing there in the first place. And that’s where I think!!!
If I could have one small wish for today, it would be for those of us on both left and right to refrain from political point scoring over the London attacks. Just for a day. Isn’t tomorrow soon enough to return to our usual arguments?(The Washington Monthly)
Bing,You support terrorism, and that’s what I think.
ski I’ll have you know I DO NOT support terrorisms!!!! Terrorists are the enemies of America and I stand behind our Great President 100%. I’ll have you know the day our Leader lead us to war, I scratched the bulldog decal off the back window of my pickup and replaced it with an American flag decal! I have 4 support our troops magnetic stickers on my truck! How many do you have or do you not support our troops?!?!? I tried to join the Marines when our Great President started the war in Iraq, but they wouldn’t let me in. They said I had to have a high school diploma or a ged. I may not be the brightest pencil in the drawer, but I can shoot. Hell, I got me 4 deer this last season! Lets see you do that. Have you ever tried to join the Marines? I didn’t think so! So don’t tell me I support terrorists because I voted for our Great President Bush twice and I’ll damn well vote for him again!
Which I know he can’t run again. I just got excited. That’s all.
I agree with Ed, until we look at WHY we’re being attacked by terrorists and start to seriously examine our foreign policy, the violence against us is not going to stop.
Well, Ed and Damoon, it is pretty obvious why they hate us. Jews! All we have to do is support their attacks against Jews and expell them from America and we are safe. And both of you support this????
Wow!!! What in the heck does expelling Jews from America have to do with anything?!? I said we need to examine our foreign policy!!
Joe, I don’t think it’s so much that they hate us as it is they hate our policies. Our obvious support fot the Jewish state has enraged most of the Arab world (no, I’m not condeming our support of Israel per se). Looking at it from an Arab standpoint, I can see where our support and the way we supply weapons to Israel would piss them off. While we have gone through the motions to help find a peaceful solution to the Israel/Palistinian conflict, I don’t think snybody can say we haven’t sided with Israel, especially over the last 5 years. I won’t venture an opinion whether that’s right or wrong; I’m just saying it makes Arabs very angry. That situation is a holy war to Muslims and it’s been going on for a couple thousand years more or less. Nothing we do is going to have much effect, one way or the other and history since 1948 bears that out. Right or wrong, as long as we support Israel, we got problems.
So-called “terrorism” began when Palestinians defended their homes, farms, families and land from the hordes of US sponsored Zionist { Israeli } invaders to Palestine. By tagging the defenders with the name “terrorists,” an unsuspecting American public was willing to offer sympathy and money to the Zionists of Israel. { 1.6 trillion dollars since 1973 according to the Christian Science Monitor, the figures from 1945-1972 on not available} Over 418 Palestinian villages were bulldozed and the villagers were slaughtered. For the smart-mouth who asked: “Ed, Who was it that we were massacring when they hit the world trade center? ” Here’s my question: Were you in a comma from 1945-2001?” Over 1 million olive trees and orange groves were uprooted in the West Bank and Gaza alone, and millions of Palestinians were either murdered or driven into refugee camps after their homes were destroyed. !00,000 Iraqis died when we dropped 166,000 lbs. of bombs on Baghdad before the invasion. People tend to get a little angry when you kill their children. Somebody needs to bone-up on history before they run their mouths-off.
Damn Ed, I call that lettin loose with both barrels! You go, man! But your point is well taken.
W.R.Locke, As long as I’m at it,…. here goes: Israel has been stealing our top-secret missile systems and selling them to China. Bush is completely surrounded by “neocons” {Zionists} and is too stupid to protect our country’s top-secrets. When an upgrade came out for the missiles, Israeli spies stole them and China sent the missiles back to Israel for the upgrades. How brazen can you get? {source Janes weapons} When you start exposing Israel for what they really are, they go to “plan B” which is to make the accusation of anti-Semitism. The funny part about that is that both Arabs and Jews are of the Semitic race. Source: {Webster’s dictionary} look it up.
Just in: Israel is stealing our sophisticated missile systems which specifically home in on American electronic emissions like the Awacs aircraft, the Patriot missile radar, and the Aegis phased array radar on American warships, and then selling that technology to China. That seriously upsets the balance of power between the US and China.Israel has managed to escape any major punishment for its actions because of its “special relationship” with the “sold-out” members of the US Congress. AIPAC has a list of both members of the House and Senate it has in its pocket. Look it up.
It has nothing to do with our policy! It has everything to do of who they are. They are killers period! Nothing is going to change them. They have been indoctinated with hate of all those who are not them. If you want to understand their hate, it is the same as the Liberals hate Conservatives. If they could get away with it, they would kill for their agenda and ideology!
I am agreeing with Joe! They are so hateful of us because that is their religion! And that’s what happens when people get so wrapt up about their religion that they can’t see anybody eleses side. The liberals can hate us all they want. We hate them even more and they’ll be sorry someday!
What Ed is saying is the absolute truth!!
The middle east countries have hated us for a long time because we support Israel. Thats the bottom line!!
Then when you stage three wars in a span of about 15 years in their region, they tend to get even more angry. Now dont get me wrong the 91 Persian Gulf war and Afghanistan were justified. The current one Im a litte iffy about.
I wish we could break ties with the two-timing Saudi family, but our economy will suffer.
The world is an ugly place.
God Bless us all.
Isreal is a good point. When it was Paliestine Christans, Jews, and Muslums actually all got along. After WWII when the UN determined the state of Isreal is when things started to get hairy amoung them.
The reason is not really the Jewish religion. It is because many Arabs look at Isrealies as subplanted Europeans, and many are. After WWII when they came back by the millions from Europe, many just said they were Jew and etc and got in Isreal. Even now, if you are an American Jew you can go to Isreal and the government will give you money and a place to stay and say “Welcome Home”. They literatly did take that place away from everybody else that lived there.
Do I think Isreal should exisit? Yep! Do I agree at what they done? Nope! Just like our own country history of slavery and autosities towards Natives, we must move on and try to be better in the future. Same goes to Isreal and all the other countries in the Middle East.
Isreal is there to stay so they have to deal with it. Make the best out of it, not try to destory it.
The US needs to quit taking sides in the whole conflict and support them both. We’ve propped up Isreal’s military too long. Isreal continues to repress Palestine and the terror has gone both ways ever since the conflict started. Maybe with Arafat out of the way, some progress can be made, but we need to seriously examine our contribution to the whole mess.
Reading the news and watching the reports on TV, I have to ask myself when is going to happen here? These terrorists didn’t use WMD, the devices were just low-tech run-of-the-mill explosives. It really isn’t rocket science to build an explosive device and anybody with military or farm experience, or who took high school chemistry can probably build a bomb. I just don’t see how we can stop this sort of thing in an open society. And if we turn America into a police state, the terrorists have surely won.We don’t pay attention to what’s going on around us and we studiously avoid really checking out the people around us and the surounding area. How many times have you driven down the street and seen a cardboard box or a bundle of who knows what lying in the street? How many times have you seen an un-attended bag, purse, or other personal item in a public place? To be truly security consious, we would literally have to view anybody carrying anything with suspicion. Sure, if you see somebody in robes that look overly bulky with a glassy-eyed stare, that’s going to arrouse suspicion. But you can carry a hell of a lot of explosives in a briefcase, and any service truck you see could potentially carry a bomb that might level a building.
It’s not so much whether or not it’ll happen (it will) as how we react.
“I tried to join the Marines when our Great President started the war in Iraq, but they wouldn’t let me in. They said I had to have a high school diploma or a ged. I may not be the brightest pencil in the drawer, but I can shoot”
Heh. Funny. I really hope that was a joke poking fun at the sterotype of redneck, iliterate Kansas Republicans.
But no, it is not “their religion”. Muslims who kill in the name of their religion are not Muslims at all. It’s a small branch using religion to promote terrorism…and it’s not Islam alone. OK city bombings, anyone? Seriously, it’s attitudes like this that breed hate.
And yellow ribbon/flag stickers on your trailer home do nothing for the troops. The love of my life signed up for the Marines right after 9/11 for college money, and he signed up with the understanding that he would fight TO DEFEND our country against those who attck us, not engage in frivolous wars to avenge Dubya’s daddy. He wanted to fight Taliban terrorists in Afganistan, possibly take on the terror haven that is Saudi Arabia, and now he’s risking his life every day and he doesn’t know why. He’s intelligent, so he’s not fooled by the right wind rhetoric. Sending him care packages and protesting this stupid, frivolous, terrorist-creating war–THAT’s supporting our troops. Loving your country so much that you feel pain when you think about the direction its heading…that’s patriotism. Not yellow ribbons stuck on gas-guzzling SUVs.
Who gave Bing a computer ?
I think (or I hope) that Bing is being satirical. People like that are only a tired sterotype.
The “yellow” on those stickers stands for something: Notice the guy driving isn’t fighting.
Tara, I’ll have you know this is no joke! Supporting Our Troops and standing behind Our Great President Bush is never a joke! And no, there isn’t no support our troops stickers on the side of Mom’s trailer. I bought 23 of them at $2.98 each mind you, and put them up so they could be seen from the street but Mom took them down and I don’t know what she did with them. She was real mad. (Mom yells a lot when shes not drinking).Tara you think your so smart just because your educated. I was not as lucky as you. I had to quit in the 10th grade and get a job so I could make payments on my truck.
dan newland I’ll have you know nobody gave me a computer. I bought a used one at Computer Surplus. It’s a 486 HP. Hell my truck doesn’t have that many horsepower but it sure seems slow. I tried to get some pictures of some girls off the enternet and it takes forever. And you get more advertizements than on TV!And Tara I’m not tired and what’s the matter with the way I type?
LOL!! A satirical blogger amongst us. Thank God, I was about to lose faith in the human race.Bing, you’ve made my week–you’re the greatest! I’d buy you a drink anyday.
Well I’d probably like you to Tara when you’re not making fun of me. But I’d by you a beer too (if you knew who I was). But when my cousin Reggie set it up on my computer so I could write letters on this blog he said I was never to use my real name and email. So next time I get drunk, I’ll drink another beer for you. Who is LOL? I didn’t see that letter.
Bing,This isn’t about me; it’s about your statements that are against the president’s policies on fighting terrorist. Did you have tags for those 4 deer you killed or were you just poaching them out of season? About me, I didn’t have a car in high school, we were to poor to have more than one, but I now have a masters is engineering management and speak 3 languages.FYI, no, I do not have any magnetic ribbons on my car, just a purple heart on my car tag because I am a disabled Vietnam veteran. Tara, your boyfriend is protecting our country and I pray for God to protect him.Ski
Tara, thanks for outing Bing, although I’m not completely convinced yet. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen the same talk coming from someone who meant it.
Ed, you’ve hit the nail on the head about the reason we have many problems in the Middle East (hereto reffered to as ME). Ask anyone from the ME, and they will tell you the same thing: It is the U.S. Government’s aid, protection, and money given to Israel and its policies pertaining to Israel that they hate, not the people of the U.S. But as long as we’re spoonfed what our administration wants us to believe, as long as the major media continues to tell us nothing but what is controlled by said administriation, nobody but the thinkers will beleive otherwise.
iliterate Kansas Republicans? Ummm! The people who drop out of high school will most likely be 95% Democrat.
ski, I beg your pardon but I NEVER said ANYTHING against Our Great Presidents policies on fighting terrorises! I support Our Great President 110%!!!! As for them deer boy are you a dummy. I got 2 tags and I got 2 tags in Mom’s name so don’t you call me a poacher. And I did NOT get them out of season. I just kept that one in the freezer for a long time before I took it to the locker plant. Boy Mom was sure hacked about all that deer fur.So you grew up poor to, huh? ski I knew me and you was a lot alike and that we probaly think alike except that youre wrong sometimes. Do you get headaches when you think hard sometimes? Boy I know I sure do. My cousin Reggie says I should quit thinking if it hurts and he laughs. I don’t think that’s very funny. But Reggie laughs a lot since the accident down at the carwash. Man you speak 3 languages? Wow! I’m sorry to hear that cause I can usually say what I mean in just one.Ski, I thought you was kind of cranky at first but since you say you was a viet Nam veteran with a wound I kind of understand. If you was in viet Nam, you gotta be 60-70 years old and I know my Grandma Pickner is around your age and she’s cranky all the time too. Mom says she’s cranky cause she’s old and I guess that’s whats wrong with you too.
Ski, theres something I don’t understand. Your letter started out that it wasn’t about you but then you told me you didn’t have a car (I don’t think it’s fair when they wont let you old disabled guys drive) and you was poor and you was a master for the railroad or something (I didn’t get that part) and how you talked foriegn and you was disabled in Viet Nam. Now I may not be the sharpest flashlight in the drawer, but that letter sure sounded a lot like it was all about you.I’m sure sorry you dont have no magnetic stickers on your car. You can get some for $2.98 down at WalGreen. I’d offer you one of mine if I knew where Mom put them.
Ed, you right wing weakling, always chopping wood for Bush and his lies about evil terrorists. We all know they don’t exist. Those weren’t bombs in London; they were planned obsolescence by the unscrupulous CEOs of bus and train makers. And the WTC fell down all by itself after some sleazy Republican popped a balloon on the 100th floor.
Why don’t you tell it like it is? Everyone knows that Israel is nothing but America’s gulag. I was there; and you’re a yellow-bellied chicken liver for not being there right now. Get in front of some bulldozers and make a stand!
Nothing personal, of course.
Best,Ted
Bing,So you’re Grandma Pickner’s grandson Bing. Here’s why she’s so cranky, she has a grandson that not only isn’t the sharpest/brightest pencil/flashlight in the drawer, he’s not even in the drawer.I admit I was wrong, you don’t support terrorists, I’ll give you that, and you are funny for a poacher, which is what hunting with someone else’s tag is doing.Try learning another language Bing, because I don’t see that you are saying what you mean in this one. I didn’t understand you were making supportive statements for the President. Some day your boss at Taco Tico will tell you do something in Spanish, you won’t understand and may lose your job, and I’d hate to see that happen. Thanks for the offer of the magnetic sticker, after reading Ed’s blog of July 8th, I would be proud to have an “I support the troops” sticker. Try looking for them stuck to the inside of the metal dumpster there in your Mom’s trailer court.
Now ski I’m not real sure but I think you either tried to insult Grandma Pickner or me. I tried to talk nice to you and just like a lot of other people who think theyre so smart you crawled right up on your high-house and started talking down your nose at me. Ski, it’s just like Mom says. I may be slow but I’m not dumb. Now I told you to watch out about who youre calling a poacher. Mom’s got a bad ankle and can’t go get her own deer. You got a problem with me being a good son to my Mom?Ski I never worked for Taco Tico but my friend Paco does. It sounds like you don’t have much use for people who don’t make a lot of money but I guess you get that way if you make a lot of money being a master on the railroad and all. Still us poor people are just people too and I thought it was just democrats who were so snooty. You sure seem awful snooty and full of yourself.Youre welcome on the offer for the magnetic sticker. I didn’t think to look in the big dumster down on the corner. Maybe I’ll just let it go cause that big dumpster sure does stink. But if you want to look in there I guess it would be ok. I can tell the park manager not to get too excited if he sees some old cripple guy rooting around in the dumpster. But I’d sure think about buying one at WalGreen first.Ski, I kinda told you a fib about not speaking any foriegn languages. I know how to say “kiss my butt” in spanish.
Bing,I have certainly enjoyed pushing your buttons, and again your are making wrong assumptions. You charged that I was never in the service which was wrong, I was and am a crippled old guy from it. You charge I insulted Grandma Pickner, sorry son, I was just sharing why she is cranky. Snooty and full of myself, I worked my way from a travel trailer in the worst part of town to a high house and and if your not so dumb, as your Mom says, then you do it too. And you don’t need to bother the park manager, I already went to WalGreen and got a red, white and Blue magnitic ribbon and put in on the new gas gulping SUV in honor of you and your insightfullness.I have no problem with you being a good son, but using someone elses tag is still poaching, as a hunter I report poachers. Now go blog, watch out making assumptions about others, for you know not who is willing to come back and push your buttons.
Ha’aretz Reports:
“Sharon also offered Israel’s assistance in the rescue efforts. Channel 2 Television said Israel was ready to share intelligence with British authorities.Blair told Sharon that he was aware of Israel’s suffering from terrorism and that in this regard there was a close tie between their two peoples, Sharon’s office said in a statement.”
Israel is the big winner in these attacks in Britain by instilling new fears in the sagging support of the so-called “war on terrorism” and due to the sophisticated timers used to detonate the explosives, Israeli involvement is suspected.
Al-Quada would have used suicide bombers, or as the MSM likes to now call them jihadists {real big on names}.
Notice how Sharon used the tragedy to tie it together with Israel, with the implication they are both innocent victims. As if no Arabs had been murdered by either Britain or Israel. Also how Israeli intelligence wants to be “close” to the investigation. { could that be to get out in front of any evidence left behind? }
Any New York City detective would smell a possible rat in these circumstances. Maybe yes, maybe no. We’ll see.
Ted, You said: ” I was there; and you’re a yellow-bellied chicken liver for not being there right now. Get in front of some bulldozers and make a stand!”Nothing personal, of course.
Ted, None taken of course. “A yellow-bellied chicken liver” My goodness, how do I rate, after 70 years and a couple of wars, such a compliment. I actually ran a mouth out of words. Thank you ever so much. Best, Ed { I think I’ll frame this one}.
Well ski I guess youre going to have to explain about the buttons part because it didn’t make sense to me. But I sure never meant to make you think you wasnt in the service or anything like that. Your letter didn’t make much sense on that part so I had Mom look at it and all she would say was, the guilty dog barks the loudest. I’m not sure what dogs have to do with it. But I wouldnt say you wasn’t a veteran cause how else could you of got wounded? Of course there was my cousin Elmo who shot himself in the butt one night after he cleaned his gun. Everybody figures he was pretty drunk but we still cant figure out how he shot hisself in the butt. But now he tells girls he was shot in the war to impress them but you being an old guy and all, I dont think youre probably that interested in girls anymore so you wouldnt need to fib about it.Ski, I just don’t understand you. I keep trying to talk nice to you and you just keep getting crankier and crankier. You might want to try some Prune juice. Sometimes that helps Grandma Pickner.WOW! You got a red white and blue magnet at WalGreen? All they had when I got mine were yellow ones. Which WalGreen did you go to?Now Ski, I think you may have fibbed to me again. You told me a while back how poor you was but now you say you had a travel trailer. Heck my family was so poor we had to camp out in a tent. I’m starting to wonder if you was ever poor at all! I’ll bet you never even raided the dumpster behind McDonalds after closing time!Oh and Ski. It probably wont do you any good to snitch me out about the deer cause we already ate them and you dont know who I am. I guess my cousin Reggie was right about not telling anybody my real name and email.
Are you guys talking about my grandma Pickner? Jim Pickner, Hawarden, Iowa
