In civil cases, BTK has a fool for a lawyer

Given the notoriously bad grammar and spelling that Dennis Rader displayed in BTK’s taunting letters to media and authorities, it was startling to see an opposing attorney in the civil lawsuits describe as “picture perfect” Rader’s notice to the court that he would be defending himself. Still, what they always say about defendants who represent themselves surely applies here. The confessed serial killer probably figures he has nothing left to lose — and lots of hours to fill.

Let’s put this issue in perspective and then consign Mr. Rader to the total anonymity he deserves but loathes. First, someone typed that Entry of Appearance for him, so of course it was “picture perfect”…unless you think inmates have Pentium processors at their disposal. Secondly, of course he is representing himself…Rader can’t afford a lawyer, because his ex-wife just took all of his assets in the divorce. Third, he probably thinks he’ll be brought back to Wichita for depositions, etc…he won’t. Inmates file lawsuits all the time in hopes of getting some time out of prison for depositions, etc….Mr. Rader will suffer the same fate, only with more publicity.

I no longer live in Wichita. Nevertheless, I have fond memories of Kansas, and I am profoundly embarrassed for the state when I read in the Eagle that Dennis Rader has filed an Entry of Appearance. Why is this newsworthy? Why do we continue to grant this man a pulpit from which to speak from jail? I modestly propose that we change Rader’s acronym to CDP (chicken dung poltroon) and then never mention his name in public again. Just knowing that society unilaterally changed his acronym should annoy Rader till he dies. Let him go.

Rader can’t stand not having attention. This is just his way of getting attention after the criminal proceedings are over (which would be sooner than later if Nola wasn’t all about getting herself some P.R., but I digress). He knows the media will cover every filing and every event and he can stay in the news and tell his “story” over and over. If the media would just quit talking about him, he’d go crazy (or crazier than he is).

The worst of this is that the plaintiffs in the civil suits will have to endure being cross examined by the killer of their loved ones. This is a true case of cruel and unusual punishment.

BTK, doesn’t care, about the inconvenience to you, me or the victims of this travesty! BTK cares about causing as much pain, aggrevation and noteriety as he can. The part that is really sad, is the MEDIA, can’t let it go. The Media needs, to remind us daily, of anything concerning BTK . Because, they think it helps improve their image and encourages viewers and readers.

Of course, the Kansas Taxpayer, is the one that gets to pay the final bill.

The Kansas taxpayer gets to pay the bill with or without any media coverage. If I thought we could all take a poke at BTK while he serves his time, I would pay extra taxes.

I do agree that the media is selling airtime and ink with the suffering of his victims.

Well then just don’t listen, read, or view any media. No one is forcing you to do it.

BTK, confessed! BTK, is doing his time and will not get out of prison alive. Regardless, of whether he does life sentences, consecitively or concurrently.

He is a Done Deal!! Why, is it necessary to keep reporting every issue relating to this dirtbag. Let him rot and be forgotten.
