Where’s Phill Kline?

Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline’s silence on the Kansas Supreme Court’s schools order has been dumbfounding, especially because he was an architect of the school finance law under assault, had been a vocal critic of the litigation and has been known to travel hours to get behind a mike. A spokeswoman has said Kline is waiting to see how the governor and Legislature respond, but it’s hard not to wonder what he’s up to. A long-shot appeal? An out-of-the-box fix? For a guy so used to holding forth, holding his tongue can’t be healthy.

It’s called representative democracy. We vote for them. You might want to have this concept down as it’s a rather critical one for politics.

The only thing people like Kline represent are jokes for the rest of the country.

Kline has been unusually silent and those recent times when he has spoken, he almost seemed reasonable. My theory is that he has poll or focus group data suggesting he needs to come across as a moderate to have a hope of getting the Repub. gubernatorial nomination. This man is only about politics and though politicians may be stupid about most things, they do know how people are likely to vote.
