Stupid Europeans

It only takes one brain cell to recognize a celebrity, according to a study released Thursday in the journal Nature. So you’d think it would take half a brain cell — or less — to realize that you shouldn’t turn down Oprah Winfrey’s business.
But according to this article, that’s exactly what the Paris luxury store Hermes did earlier this month. Apparently, there are stupid Europeans, too.

While I do sympathize with Ms. Winfrey for not being able to spend her oodles of cash in a fancy European store. I think this is all being blown out of proportion. The store was CLOSED…yes there are stores that allow celebrities to enter after hours, but they don’t have to! So she didn’t get to shop…I get pissed because I can’t buy cold medicine when a pharmacist isn’t available….but that doesn’t mean I get to whine about how I was treated shabbily by someone who wouldn’t make and exception for me.
I think it’s important for people to take this incident for what it was.

I can’t believe the media is putting a racial spin on this! Maybe the french store clerks simply didn’t know she was a celebrity and after all, it was after closing time. Leave it to the media to make it into something other than what it was.

Ian, please go back under the rock you crawled out from under. Most of us have had enough of your stupidity and hatred. I will keep your children in my prayers. It must be a nightmare being raised by someone like you, and the last thing the world needs is 5 more bigots thrown into the pool.

And how does Ian propose to ensure the purity of his children’s offspring? I fear it may end up like a breeding program in some isolated kennel or puppy mill.

For the story, I just wonder why Ms. Winfrey’s entourage conveniently failed to inform the boutique ahead of their arrival to ensure that some accomodations can be arranged. On another point, my European friends adore her, and often ask if she would run for public office. ;)
