Not so fast on closing Gitmo

Randy: Closing Gitmo might provide a public relations boost, but it likely would be short-lived — so I’m not sure it is worth it. The reality is that we need a place to hold enemies who are a threat to our country’s security and who have intelligence value. Many of the loudest critics can’t accept that, so they likely would continue to complain if we moved the facility somewhere else.
What everyone should agree on is that we shouldn’t abuse our prisoners, wherever they are held.

Good points, Mr. Brownlee. The real problem is all this hand wringing on behalf of our enemies.

    Thanks Mr. Brownlee.
GITMO is practically irreverent. Traditionally, POWs are kept till the war is over. Only Heinous acts by individuals cause trials. POWs that attack or throw ’stuff’ at guards or violate rules are punished, like any prison. Not tortured. (Head butting a Marine guard may get one a bruise or two) Big Deal.

Hundreds have been released(some in error) due to the constant drumbeat of the Democrats that are featured daily repeating and expounding on outrageous charges based on rumors, forgeries and foreign media sources. This, in other wars, was called Sedition. It is giving AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY! Negative stories based on half-truths do as much damage. Why would any American believe any of it? But they do! And most of the worst outrageous come from leading Democrats like Kennedy and Durbin. These are parroted in the Anti-American worldwide press and are costing us lives!

Now Randy wants close GITMO but, like most Liberals, has no alternate solution. Take no prisoners? Send them back to the battlefield?
We were attacked! Repeatedly! WE ARE AT WAR! I am deeply ashamed of the anti-American attitude of those who constantly bash the commander in chief and his troops.
