The Pawnee Nation plans to build a tribal casino just across the state line south of Arkansas City, reported The Ark City Traveler. Plus, the Tonkawa tribe is building its own casino that will be adjacent to the Pawnee facility.
So expanded gaming is coming to this area. The question is whether Wichita and Kansas will benefit.

Great! Let Oklahoma pay for the addicts. As if Ark City didn’t have enough problems.
Lets get a casino here addicts will gamble on any kind of lottery or keno. So how will a casino change that. DUH.
Only the dumbest of the dumb are still playing lottery or keno with any serious cash. 5 to 10 thousand NEW addicts are expected if we get a casino. To get the expected $50M in taxes the losers will donate over $500M. Big change for a small city.

Once again Kansas money will be leaving the state never to return. People will go to the new casinos, in large quantities. My wife and I will go to the new casinos. We are not real big fans of Oklahoma casinos, preferring the destination (Vegas-style)casino instead. But we’ll try them. What some folks have a hard time understanding is that we go because we enjoy it. Some folks like to golf, bowl, camp, whatever. We enjoy casinos and all that goes with a destination type casino. Along with several million other fine folks across this nation of ours. What some folks are missing is the fact that gaming is here and it is here to stay. Whether anyone likes it or not. I would just like the opportunity to spend my gambling money in Kansas without having to drive 5-6 hours.
I can’t belive people enjoy giving there money away to casino owners and operators just to see and hear the sounds associated with a casino. I think the real deal is people are fed up with taxes and they’re willing to accept casinos in the belief that others will be paying for education.
Some of us folks go to casinos for much more than just gambling. Ever been to Vegas? How about a destination resort/casino? Gambling is part of it, but by no means all of it. For those folks who go to casinos to “get rich” I have two words of advice. Stay home.
