“The Trade Bank of Iraq issued the first-ever credit card and now, thanks to us, the Iraqi people are free to borrow money at 30 percent interest. It’s good to see our lifestyle over there.”

The honest answer to the tabloid like rumors of politicians today is that they don’t want to miss out of an opportunity for a photo op, even if the op is their foot in their mouth. Misinformation is better than facts in that mind set. Ask Sen. Frisk if you doubt the validity.
If this is true, we seem to be showing our ignorance in Iraq more and more! The Koran has an absolute prohibition on the borrowing or lending of money with interest, and this is also law in most Islamic nations! Instead of the democracy we promised, we’re offering not only to subvert their religion, but the opportunity of endless debt!
Now, with credit cards, we can sell them porno flicks, junk food,
self-help books, and all our other wonderful accomplishments, which they can now pay on for the rest of their lives! No wonder their opinion of us is hitting bottom!
