Wichita weather: Pleasant temperatures as clouds depart

Wichita can look forward to pleasant weather on Friday, forecasters say.

Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s with light and variable winds. Skies will be mostly cloudy early before gradually clearing over the course of the day.

Temperatures will dip to the low 60s early Saturday morning before rebounding into the mid-80s under sunny skies on Saturday, forecasters say. Sunday will be a little warmer, with highs climbing near 90.

Wichita weather: Showers continue

More rain is in the forecast for Wichita on Thursday, with perhaps a morning thunderstorm thrown in for good measure.

Highs will be in the upper 60s, forecasters say, with light easterly winds. Rain should end by evening, with skies beginning to clear. Overnight lows will only drop a few degrees to the low 60s.

Friday should be quite pleasant, forecasters say, with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s and light northerly winds.

A wet Wednesday looms for the Wichita area, forecasters say.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible, particularly along and southwest of a line from Russell to Wichita to Wellington, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will be in the low 70s, with light southeasterly winds. Additional showers and thunderstorms are likely late into the evening and overnight, forecasters say, with lows settling into the low 60s.

More showers are likely on Thursday, with highs in the low 70s.

Wichita weather: Delightful day

Days like this don’t come along often in July around the Sunflower State.

Sunshine, light north winds and highs in the upper 70s are expected Tuesday in the Wichita area, forecasters say. That’s at least 15 degrees below the normal high for this time of year.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives overnight, when lows will settle in the low 60s. Better chances for rain come on Wednesday, forecasters say, when highs will only be in the low 70s. Rainfall could be heavy at times. Winds will stay in the single digits out of the south and southeast.

Rain could persist overnight in the region, with lows dipping to the upper 50s to low 60s. A slight chance of scattered showers will linger into Thursday as well, forecasters say.

Wichita weather: Summer’s sizzle sets in

Folks wanting a taste of summer’s sizzle are about to get their wish.

Sunshine, south winds and temperatures climbing through the 90s are in the forecast through the weekend in the Wichita area, forecasters say. Highs today will be in the low 90s and in the mid- to upper 90s Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will be boosted by south-southwesterly winds that will gust into the mid-20s at times. Overnight lows will be a balmy 75 degrees or so through the weekend.

Wichita weather: Early morning showers, then clearing

Early commuters may get wet in the Wichita area Thursday morning, forecasters say, as showers and thunderstorms finish moving through the region.

Skies will gradually clear throughout the day, however, as highs climb near 90. Winds will be out of the north early in the day before shifting to the south later on, forecasters say. Gusts could approach 25 miles an hour.

Lows tonight will only drop to the low to mid-70s under mostly clear skies, before gusty south winds help send the temperature soaring on Friday to the mid- to upper 90s. Clear skies and gusts of nearly 30 miles an hour will help the region sizzle, forecasters say.

Temperatures could brush 100 on Saturday before cooling off to the low 90s on Sunday.

It’ll be another pleasant day for early July in the Wichita area on Wednesday, forecasters say.

Highs will be in the upper 80s under sunny skies, with light southeasterly winds occasionally pushing into double digits. A chance of rain arrives overnight, when lows slip into the upper 60s.

Those rain chances will linger through the morning hours on Thursday before skies begin to clear, forecasters say. Highs will approach 90 degrees. Winds will be stronger than over the previous few days, with steady breezes in the upper teens and gusts pushing 30 miles an hour.

Friday and Saturday will be sunny and hot, with highs in the upper 90s, forecasters say.

Tuesday will be several degrees cooler than Monday in the Wichita area, with highs likely to top out in the upper 80s.

There’s a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, forecasters say. North-northeasterly winds will be in the teens, with gusts topping 20 miles an hour.

Monday will be hot in the Wichita area, with highs climbing near the century mark for the first time in several weeks.

South-southwesterly winds will gust to about 25 miles an hour under sunny skies, forecasters say. The surge of heat comes in front of an approaching cold front, which will bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday.

Lows tonight will be in the mid-70s, forecasters say, with Tuesday’s highs only reaching the low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Chances for rain will persist through the evening hours, with overnight lows in the upper 60s.

Wednesday is shaping up to be sunny but cooler still, with highs in the upper 80s.

Wichita weather: Another beautiful day

Another dose of gorgeous weather is on tap for Wichita on Wednesday.

Highs will creep into the 80s under sunny skies and light winds, forecasters say. A slight chance of showers comes into the area early Friday morning, when lows will settle in the mid-60s, and they’ll persist until about lunchtime on Friday.

But then skies will clear off again, forecasters say, with highs climbing to the upper 80s. Winds will be heartier, with southerly winds intensifying from the teens in the morning to the low 20s in the afternoon. Gusts could top 30 miles an hour.

The weekend will be a taste of summer, with sunshine and highs in the low 90s. Forecasters say that’s just about normal for this time of year, by the way.
