Wichita returns to the broiler on Wednesday, with highs near 100 and breezy conditions under sunny skies.
Those winds will be out of the south-southwest, forecasters say, and steady breezes in the teens increasing to the 20s later in the day and gusting at more than 30 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s, forecasters say, with south winds remaining robust. Gusts will still approach 30 miles an hour.
Thursday will also be sunny and hot, forecasters say, with highs near 100 and southerly winds gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour. The heat will persist into the weekend, with highs in the upper 90s through Saturday.
