Windy and warm are the two key words in Monday’s forecast for the Wichita area.
Highs are expected to reach the low 90s under mostly sunny skies, forecasters say, with south winds in the teens early and strengthening to the 20s later in the afternoon. Gusts could approach 40 miles an hour.
Lows will settle in the mid-70s tonight under mostly clear skies, forecasters say, with winds easing only gradually as the overnight hours pass. Steady south winds will be in the 20s early, gusting again to nearly 40 miles an hour at times.
Tuesday will mirror Monday, forecasters say, with highs in the low 90s under sunny skies and breezy south winds in the mid-20s. Gusts could reach the mid-30s.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms arrive again on Wednesday and will persist the rest of the week, forecasters say.
