There might be a bit of rain Monday afternoon and evening in the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Highs should top 70 under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the west, blowing steadily in the 20s and gusting to nearly 40 miles an hour.
Chances for rain persist into Tuesday, forecasters say, when cooler air arrives and drops highs into the upper 50s. Winds will shift to the north but will remain robust. Steady breezes will be in the 20s and gusts will again approach 40 miles an hour.
Lows could drop into the upper 30s Tuesday night, forecasters say, with northwest winds easing only slightly. Gusts will still top 30 miles an hour, with steady winds in the upper teens to low 20s.
