Robust south winds are expected to push temperatures back up into the 40s in the Wichita area, forecasters say.
But don’t get used to it. Another blast of arctic air will send temperatures diving over the weekend.
Wind chills will be below 0 at times today, forecasters say, with those south winds gusting to more than 35 miles an hour under gradually clearing skies.
Lows Friday night in the Wichita area will be in the low 20s, with south winds easing only a little. The arrival of the cold front means Saturday’s high in the low 30s will come in the morning, forecasters say.
Skies will cloud up as a chance of snow arrives later on Saturday. Lows Saturday night will dip nearly to single digits and Sunday’s high will only crawl into the low 20s.
