Skies should clear on Thursday in the Wichita area, forecasters say, but the cold weather isn’t going anywhere.
Highs will top out only in the upper 20s, with wind chills dropping below 0 at times. North winds will occasionally reach double digits before easing later in the day, forecasters say.
Lows tonight will slip into the mid-teens under mostly clear skies, then Friday should rebound nicely thanks to the winds shifting to the south. Those winds will gust to more than 35 miles an hour at times, forecasters say, lifting temperatures into the low 40s under sunny skies.
But temperatures will plummet again over the weekend, peaking in the upper 30s Saturday and the upper 20s on Sunday.
