After flirting with a record high on Sunday, Wichita will bask in another dose of 60s today.
The record of 69 set in 1939 won’t be threatened, forecasters say, with highs projected only to reach the mid-60s. But after last week’s frigid temperatures, Wichitans are not going to complain.
Light winds out of the west and northwest will help hoist the temperatures to their lofty-for-December levels, forecasters say. Skies will be sunny and stay mostly clear overnight, when lows dip back into the 20s.
Tuesday will be sunny and warm, too, with highs climbing into the upper 50s. Wednesday could offer more 60s to the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say, but snow could enter the forecast by the end of the week.
