Wichita weather: Sunny and warmer, but still windy

Highs should top the 60-degree mark today in Wichita, forecasters say, but hearty winds will take some of the warmth away.

Those south winds will reach 25 miles an hour at times under sunny skies. They’ll grow even stronger overnight, with steady breezes in the 20s and gusts topping 30 miles an hour as lows dip to the upper 40s.

There may be periods of drizzle overnight as well, forecasters say.

The weekend will see the wind continue, pushing highs into the low 70s on Saturday with lots of sunshine and into the mid-60s on Sunday.
