A frost advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. for eight counties in southern Kansas, including Sedgwick and the southern section of the Wichita metropolitan area.
Once the sun rises, forecasters say, temperatures will rebound nicely into the low 60s. After Wednesday’s blustery fare, northerly winds will be much more tranquil today – not even touching double digits.
Overnight lows will again dip into the 30s, forecasters say, but another frost isn’t expected. Skies will be mostly clear, with light winds shifting to the south but remaining in single digits.
Robust winds will return on Friday, forecasters say, gusting out of the south to nearly 40 miles an hour at times. It’ll be sunny, too, with highs in the mid-60s.
The weekend will bring more sunshine and more 60s to the Wichita area, forecasters say.
