Wichita’s only collected a few sprinkles over the last 48 hours or so

As you can see by this map from the National Weather Service, some areas of Kansas have had some healthy rains the last couple of days.

For Wichita, however, it’s only added up to a little more than half an inch.

Wichita weather: More showers possible

Chances for rain continue today in the Wichita area, forecasters say.

Highs will reach the upper 80s with south winds gusting to more than 30 miles an hour at times. Skies will be cloudy early and then gradually clear throughout the course of the day, forecasters say.

Slight chances for showers persist overnight, with lows falling into the upper 60s. Wednesday will offer a break from the sprinkles, with highs touching 90 under mostly sunny skies.

Precipitation possibilities return on Thursday before the weekend shapes up to be warm and dry, forecasters say.
