And the rainy season that is this August in central and southeastern Kansas continues on Tuesday.
There’s a good chance of showers and thunderstorms across the region today, forecasters say, and some of those storms could produce heavy rainfall. That will only aggravate the flooding threat in this waterlogged area.
Highs today will be in the low 80s with light east-southeast winds. Chances for heavy rain will persist into the overnight hours in southern Kansas and the Wichita area, forecasters say. Lows will slide to the mid-60s before rebounding to the low 80s again on Wednesday.
Rain chances are expected to end early Wednesday morning in the Wichita area, forecasters say, setting the stage for another brief dry spell Wednesday and Thursday.
