Has the world flipped upside down?

Consider this: AccuWeather reports that it is warmer in Quebec, Canada at 81 degrees than it is at Key West in Florida. The southernmost point of the continental U.S. was at 79.

Meanwhile, in Wichita, average temperatures for May are nearly 13 degrees below normal.

Granted, we’re only a week into the month. But that’s still a remarkable statistic.

Wichita weather: Patchy fog early in the morning of a sunny day

Fog could slow the morning commute in the Wichita metropolitan area on Monday, forecasters say.

Patchy fog is expected to be in the area between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m., before light northerly winds stir enough to clear skies. Highs are expected to climb into the low 70s under partly cloudy skies, forecasters say. Winds will become calm by the afternoon.

Winds will pick up again overnight, when skies remain mostly clear and temperatures bottom out in the low 50s. Tuesday will see more clouds move in, forecasters say, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue through the rest of the week, forecasters say, and they could be strong on Wednesday and Thursday.
