While Goodland shovels out from nearly 10 inches of snow, Wichita will see temperatures recover rapidly toward readings more common with late April.
After a hard frost overnight in the Wichita area – and much of the state, actually – highs should reach the upper 50s today under mostly sunny skies in the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say. Winds will be light and variable.
Patchy frost will be possible tonight, when lows dip into the mid-30s under mostly clear skies. Thursday will be warmer still, forecasters say, with highs reaching the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will shift to the south during the day and gust to more than 25 miles an hour.
Showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast early Friday morning, forecasters say, and are expected to persist on into the daytime hours. Highs should climb into the 60s once again.
