On the day before another winter storm unleashes on Kansas, Wichita will have a rather tranquil Friday.
Highs may reach 50 under mostly cloudy skies, forecasters say. Winds will be light out of the north-northeast.
A chance for rain and snow arrives after midnight, with lows settling into the mid-30s. Winds will shift to the east-northeast and strengthen into the teens, with gusts topping 20 miles an hour.
Rain and snow are likely on Saturday, with temperatures only climbing a few degrees from the overnight low.
