Wichita will increasingly shed its winter blanket today, thanks to a smattering of sunshine and highs in the upper 30s.
Winds will continue to be brisk, forecasters say, with steady breezes in the teens out of the north-northwest. Gusts will approach 25 miles an hour.
The lingering snow cover will allow temperatures to plunge into the low 20s overnight under partly cloudy skies.
Friday will bring with it a slight chance of flurries, forecasters say, before temperatures recover to the mid-30s. The weekend will see temperatures climb into the 40s under partly sunny skies.
