Those 70s on Monday will seem a long way away today in the Wichita area, with highs projected to be less than half that.
Morning clouds will gradually move out of the area through the course of the day, forecasters say, but the sunshine will do little to boost temperatures. Highs will only reach the mid-30s, with north-northwest winds gusting to more than 30 miles an hour.
Tonight’s low will be in the low 20s under mostly clear skies, forecasters say. Winds will shift to the south-southwest and ease to the single digits.
Thursday will be a bit warmer in Wichita, forecasters say, with highs in the low 40s, mostly sunny skies and light and variable winds.
Temperatures are expected to warm into the 50s for the weekend.
