Today appears destined to be the nicest day of the week in the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Highs are expected to climb into the mid-50s under sunny skies. Winds will be light out of the west.
Lows tonight will drop to the low 20s, forecasters say, with a few clouds overhead and winds shifting to the northeast and intensifying as the night proceeds. Gusts could reach 25 miles an hour.
Thursday will be much colder, with highs only in the 30s. Temperatures will then begin to rebound Friday and through the weekend, when a chance of rain arrives, forecasters say.
