Wichita weather: Rain likely after midnight

Rain enters the forecast for the Wichita area today.

Chances will be slight throughout the afternoon and into the evening, forecasters say, but rain is likely after midnight. Highs today will reach the mid-50s, with rain possible after noon. Winds will be light and out of the north-northeast.

The overnight showers could include a few thunderstorms, forecasters say. Lows will only bottom out in the 40s, with winds shifting from the east to the south and occasionally reaching the low teens.

Rain is expected to continue through Thursday morning in the Wichita area, forecasters say. Highs will likely top out at around 50, with southerly winds shifting throughout the day.

Friday and the weekend are likely to be dry, forecasters say.
