Temperatures in the Wichita area could flirt with record highs today, forecasters say.
The forecast calls for temperatures in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. The record for November 9 in Wichita is 82, set in 2006. Robust winds out of the south will help boost temperatures, forecasters say. Gusts could approach 40 miles an hour.
Temperatures tonight will only drop to the low 60s, forecasters say, which would shatter Wichita’s record for warmest low on November 10 of 58 in 1964. Saturday is shaping up to be another warm day, with highs in the upper 70s just ahead of a strong cold front.
That front could bring measurable rain to the region – along with much colder temperatures, forecasters say. Highs on Veterans Day could be 30 degrees colder than the day before.
