Get out the erasers – today appears poised to become the warmest November 2 in Wichita’s history.
Forecasters are calling for sunny skies and a high in low to mid-80s, which would topple the existing record high of 80 set in 1978. Gusty winds out of the west will play a role in boosting the temperature to record levels. Winds will surge to 20 miles an hour at times.
Winds will shift to the north tonight as a cold front moves in, bringing a few clouds and much cooler temperatures. Lows will slip to the mid-40s and winds will again gust to about 20 miles an hour.
The weekend will see more sunshine, forecasters say, but highs will only be in the mid-60s. Lows will be in the upper 30s and low 40s.
