As Hurricane Sandy churns through the northeastern United States, it’s put the brakes on weather features moving east. That means the warm, placid conditions over the Great Plains figure to linger for a few more days.
Highs in Wichita today should reach the low 70s under mostly sunny skies, forecasters say. Winds will be light and variable, staying in the single digits.
Lows tonight will fall to the low 40s under mostly clear skies. Winds will remain light and variable.
Wednesday is likely to be a few degrees warmer than Tuesday, forecasters say, with highs in the mid- to upper 70s. Sunny skies and light breezes out of the south are also anticipated.
Sunny skies and highs in the 70s are projected for the rest of the work week in the Wichita area.
