Wichita could tack on another 100 to its pile of triple digits for the summer today.
Sunny skies and light south winds are expected as well, forecasters say. A slight chance of showers arrives tonight, when lows are expected to dip into the mid-70s. Winds will shift to the east but remain light.
That slight chance of showers is expected to linger into Wednesday morning, forecasters say, but the front should bring cooler temperatures with it. Highs should peak in the upper 90s, with winds out of the northeast staying under 10 miles an hour.
Even cooler temperatures are expected later in the week, forecasters say.
