Wichita weather: And today makes 9 straight 100s

The heat wave drags on in the Wichita area today, with temperatures again expected to exceed 100.

The heat advisory continues for more than two dozen counties – including the Wichita metropolitan area – until 7 p.m. today.

Highs should climb to about 104 today in Wichita, the National Weather Service reports. But then a cool front is expected to move in, bringing with it a chance of rain tonight and tomorrow morning.

The best chances come Thursday morning, though they are not substantial. Nevertheless, the clouds should help pull high temperatures below triple digits for the first time in more than a week.
