Wichita weather: Another 100 on the way

The heat wave persists in Kansas for another day, with forecasters calling for highs of about 104 in Wichita today.

Sunny skies and south winds in the teens with gusts well into the 20s are on tap for Tuesday in the metro area. The heat advisory for more than two dozen counties in southeast Kansas – including the Wichita area – has been extended until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Lows tonight will be in the upper 70s under mostly clear skies. Wednesday should see another day in the 100s, forecasters say, before a weak front brings a chance of rain and slightly cooler temperatures later in the week.
