Forecasters are calling for a high of about 104 today and Tuesday. A heat advisory remains in effect for more than 30 Kansas counties, including the Wichita metropolitan area, until Tuesday evening.
The heat index could reach 108 at times during this period, the National Weather Service warns.
Overnight lows will be in the upper 70s.
South winds will be in the teens both days, with gusts touching 20 miles an hour today and nearing 30 on Tuesday.
