Wichita weather: Just a bit of a cool-down before 100s return

For the first time in a week, Wichita didn’t reach 100 on Sunday. It came close, though: 99.

It shouldn’t reach triple digits in the metro area today, either, forecasters say. But then the 100s are expected to return and persist through the end of the week.

Highs today will top out in the mid-90s under sunny skies, forecasters say. South winds will be in the teens.

Overnight lows under mostly clear skies will drop to the mid-70s, forecasters say, and then the 100s return on Tuesday. No precipitation is in the forecast for the next week at least.
