Another day of triple-digit temperatures is on tap for the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Today’s high is projected to reach 103 in Wichita, making it the third straight day atop the century mark. Monday’s high of 105 fell two degrees short of the record for June 26.
Winds should be more prevalent today than Monday, though, with south-southeast winds in the teens at times and gusting to nearly 20 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will drop to the mid-70s, forecasters say, with the winds strengthening out of the south to the upper teens. Gusts will reach 25 miles an hour at times.
Wednesday promises more heat, with highs of about 105, and 100s are expected through at least Friday in the Wichita area.
