The work week gets under way with highs in the 50s under mostly cloudy skies in the Wichita area, forecasters say. East winds will be in the teens, with gusts topping 20 miles an hour.
Showers will move into the area tonight, when lows dip only a few degrees into the upper 40s. Thunderstorms are likely after midnight, forecasters say, and thunder showers will continue during the morning on Tuesday. Highs will jump into the 60s, with south winds in the teens early then strengthening into the 20s later in the day. Gusts are expected to top 35 miles an hour.
Lows Tuesday night will drop into the 30s, forecasters say, and highs Wednesday will climb to the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies.
