Wichita weather: Gradual clearing, but cold

Some sunshine will peek through the clouds in the Wichita area today, forecasters say, but it will nonetheless be a chilly day.

Highs will only reach the mid-30s, with light north winds shifting to the east. Overnight lows will fall into the low 20s, and then Thursday should offer mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid- to upper 40s.

More chances for rain and snow arrive this weekend and early next week, forecasters say, as an active weather pattern and colder temperatures appear poised to bring more wintry precipitation to the Wichita area.

Officially, .01 of an inch of snow fell in Wichita on Tuesday, bringing the season’s snowfall total to a half-inch in Wichita. That number could change again soon, however.
